I have been working with the Mopar parts reps trying to figure out why the factory filters for the Gen4 have been on back order forever. Well long story short they changed suppliers, handlers, sales personnel and a host of other things that cause the filters to fall through the cracks.
They have finally all gotten together (with a few bruises taken by the Mopar/SRT people) and the filters are being released to the depots tomorrow so all back orders will be filled and there will be a supply for future needs!
Thanks to all of you that have inquired about this and I'm sorry it took so long to fix, but there it is. I know there has been a TON of debate during this lapse about the benefits of the factory filter over the others and I still think that the work SRT put into the design knowing that the power and reliability was paramount to them was maximized for you. Oil contamination (of sensors NOT the engine) is the deal and there has been test performed that back up the claims of poor filtering, here is one such report;
