Factory CD Player Question

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">Before I spend some time installing my new CD Changer (Thanks Chuck Tator), I'd like to confirm that the OEM Alpine CD dash unit (96 GTS) does NOT have a CD input thereby requiring an FM modulator, while the earlier OEM Alpine Cassette unit did have the CD input?

Or did I get it backwards?

Of course, I can just pull out the radio and look, but thought it might be easier and quicker to ask one kind soul that has already completed the task and knew the answer.

Ron I yanked my whole system and there is a plug on the back that goes to the amp. It looks just like the plug that the alpine changers use. I dont remember a similiar plug besides the one for the amp. But I also remember a ch changer button on the head unit. If you can wait until tomorrow Ill check the head unit and have a 100% accurate answer for you

What is the cost of a factory CD changer? I have a '96 RT/10 if it matters.

I know that DCX offers a 6 disc changer... not RF....for Vipers, including newer ones. I would bet that it would work without a RF model.

I put a "factory" changer in my 94 with no modulator, just something called an "interconnector".
I think if the head unit has buttons to control a changer..no modulator would be needed.
