very consistant times and mph's. Watching the video there still appears to be some 'mild' wheel hop when shifting. Is this accurate?

That's awesome...congrats! Did you somehow remedy the IAT issue, or just manage to not let it heat up at launch?

Bruce

Never did anything to it. I believe SRT is working on a revised tune, something that might not pull timing as aggressively due to temps. Or something that will allow timing to ramp back in quicker when conditions are proven to be better. Since there was nobody at the track, I was able to do laps without ever really stopping. I'd do 50-60 mph on the return road in the cold air and that would get my coolant temps back down pretty well. I never ran the car higher than 190F on coolant temp, or higher than 70F on IAT temp. If it crested those numbers, I parked it for a while.

10.97 @ 127.94 with 1.67 60'

I also just posted the external video of the run, showing the clutch smoking in all its glory.

The external run shows a smigeon of bog. Looks like there is a little left if that could be eliminated. Do you think it would take a first gear change?

I feel you have a 10.79 at 130 mph in that car off a 1.65 60 ft during one of those magical negative 1000 DAs.

I know your not done yet.

How much time do you think you gained with drag radials over the factory tires ????

Jamie Furman with a 2008 Viper ran a 10.92 at 129.79 on stock tires with a slower 1.76 60' time.

Great run Tony, SRT gave you nothing to work with over a GEN 4. Between gearing and what seems to be poor engine calibration the bricks are definitely stacked against you.

Thanks for being our pioneer in getting the Gen V into the 10s. I know very few that are as fearless as you with your 5000rpm smokey clutch drops and no-lift-shifting. :headbang:

Probably 0.15 seconds. I don't see guys cutting 1.67 short times on stock tires, but I do think 1.75-1.80 times are reasonable on factory Corsa tires with a big burnout. The factory rear tires are pretty soft, and 355 wide. I would have rather ran on them, but I caught a nail in one and replaced those with Pilot Sport Cups. Keep in mind that this was only -450 ft density altitude, it was 57F outside. Other record runs in the northeastern tracks were -1500 DA weather and in the 40s. There is still room for weather gains here. Some guys even get lucky and race in -2000 DA weather.

My car trapped 126 mph in +400 DA, and 129 mph in -400 DA. So, 800 ft difference and it picked up 3 mph and 3 tenths. Imagine what another 1000 ft would do for the results.
