Hi everyone,

I have been a long time lurker, but I have a question. I have owned a Yellow 2005 SRT-10 for a little over 2 years now and I have started thinking about modifying the exhaust. I am emissions exempt in my county, so I was thinking about chopping the cats off any replacing them with some piping. Okay, bear with me for a second. I have seen a few videos online of Vipers with catless exhausts have flames coming out of the exhaust. This is really what I am going for. I personally would love ann aftermarket exhaust, but my father, who also drives the car, thinks the car is loud enough as is. My question is what would the results of chopping off the cats? Would I notice any difference in sound or performance? Would I be able to see any flames with the remainder of the exhaust remaining stock?

Thank you all in advance

Yes, yes, and yes.....

it would be louder, slightly better performance, and you can get flames, smaller then the ones you might see on youtube but you can still get bursts.

Despite the cavalier way some dicuss this issue on these Fora, it is illegal under Federal law to remove the cats if the car is for on road use. Few are caught but the consequences of being caight can be a bit unpleasant. The Corsa cat back system produces an improved exhaust note. You might want to try that first.
