First Viper drive of \'05

weather was dry and sun was out, only a bit of moisture on the roads, so it would be rude not to go for a spin and take a few snaps

the road I drive to work 10 mile long, which is ideal for the GTS loads of bends, short straights 3rd gear sprints and not much traffic.

yep Steel Grey, stripes are white vinyl, car was plain but wanted stripes, tried a few colors including silver but liked white some better pics here

maybe a bit to wide Dennis down these lanes for a novice who isnt used to driving a viper. Jump into a viper for the first time, on the wrong side of these 'B' roads, steering wheel and gear knob in the wrong place ;) and try and drive fast it would be a little daunting to say the least.

Nice pics Neil, we have snow up here so no run in the Viper. The Miniviper of course, not much chance of driving the big one the now.

Weather absolutely blows here in Ohio. Days without the sun and a 16 inch snow meltoff, now 58 degrees and overcast and rain for the entire 10 day forecast. Wet, damp, dark! No Viper driving. I absolutely hate it!

Beautiful pics. Beautiful scenery. Makes me want to get on plane. I drove across Ireland (land of my ancestors!!) on a vacation a year ago...the roads were SO narrow I almost had several heart attacks, most especially, when driving the Ring of Kerry on a foggy day.

Is the viper (you have my fav color, by the way) your daily driver?? Just wondering as the steering wheel is on the left, and I don't know how you could switch back and forth without making yourself crazy.

Also, unless I something, how do you get away with only viper vanity plates??

Anyway, great pics, beautiful car, and that is a lovely ride to work you have! Happy New Year. Lynn

Re: First Viper drive of \'05

Unfortunately where I am we dont get much snow, I'd love a couple of feet for a few weeks but the normal winter is now a couple of frosty crispy mornings with a few inches of snow if were lucky that usually disappeared within a couple of hours. Last time it snowed heavily and lasted for a couple of days was around 13 years ago and the whole country ground to a halt. Global warming I guess.

I'm smack in the middle of England, well 10 miles from the center, you cant get more land locked although its still only a couple of hours in the viper to the closest sea. It's a bit rural, luckily my village is in a green belt area
which means no new buildings/construction are allowed without permission which is very hard to get from the government its also in the middle of a protected nature conservation area. Most of the surrounding roads are B roads like the pic above, with good access to the major motorways not that far away.

The viper for me like everyone over here isnt there main mode of transport, I use a GM  small 4x4 to do the donkey work, and the GTS is a weekend/summer evening type car. Jumping from left to right hand drive has caught me out a couple of times, opening the passenger door (to drive) then looking a plonker I grab something and cooly walk around to the drivers side :)

Vanity plates are available, but all the good ones went years ago, and now are really expensive. The most paid I believe for a plate was $240K for K1NGS  and that was a number of years ago, the V1PER plate I suppose is the ultimate you could get for a viper here sold at a auction a few years ago for $44K

oh well thats enough waffling off to bed...it is 2am...
