This is what is done to most marine powerplants for storage.Warm up on stabilized gas, fog, then cover intake and exhaust with plastic or cling rap to seal out moisture. This is done because there is no way to run a marine engine to warm it up.On the Viper I have stabilized gas.I run it for 1/2 hour every 2 weeks to circulate the heater,ac,throw off condensation in oil etc.Coats all internal parts and seals. Also roll back and forth 8-10 feet to roll tranny and rear end gears through the oil.Foging is very good if you can't run it up to temperature every couple of weeks. It will most definately foul the plugs. So after initial start and oil burn off you change them. It WILL foul the plugs...they will quickly clear in startup.

This would be indicated for long-term storage, ie 6-mos+, when you do NOT intend or cannot warm the OIL (not just to coolant) to operating temp every 30-60 days as Bruce describes.

My preference. Store w/ 0-30 Mobil One on long stores, amd warm occasionally. You can also fog cylinders without fouling by squirting a spray in each injector port ---with the motor off of course!
