Has anyone purchased a folding hardtop from the company below?

http://www.trunktop.citymaker.com/page/page/1630568.htm

The top seems awesome!!!

But I have a few questions.

1 - How heavy is the top?
2 - Can one persom install it by himself?
3 - How tight is the seal? Will it leak?
4 - Latching Mechanisms - same as factory or are these easier to use?

Anyone buy from them? ....And what was your experience?

Any other company's product to consider??

Thanks,
UZY

I bought this top.
I was considering this top even though I already have a stock Mopar
hardtop, specifically because IMHO, it makes an RT look
sooooooooooo much better with a top on.

The owner of the company Jeff, is also a member of this forum.

The top I have is from his October production. Jeff has made a few minor
fixes and production changes to the finished product, and his latest version according to him will be the final version of this top with all its tweaks
and changes.

Jeff's stowable top has been around for a while as an earlier version, that although looks much better than the Mopar "toupe" hardtop, is not as good looking as Jeff's latest version.

The top comes in 3 rectanglular panels (front to rear). The initial installation will take an hour or so, due to having to remove the
sport bar and all of the adjustments to get its fit perfect.
After the intial install it comes off in no time, takes only ONE person AND you can store it in the trunk! The sport bar snaps right back in place using the hardware from the top.

The quality of the top is top notch and could easily pass for a factory unit. Mine is painted and has the 3 storage bags.

Jeff is always available for assistance and provides TOP NOTCH customer service. He cares about the customer and his product.

I'm also interested in whether or not it leaks. Another question would be if you could get the autoform roll bar in under it, so that you could use it at on the car at Viper Days events. I would consider selling my hardtop and softtop if it met both of these requirements.

Actually, there is a guy who is fabricating a roll bar that will fit under it. We should be able to supply that as an option soon.

also,

Here are some pics for those who have been waiting for the scoopless version. The one piece is also right around the corner.

Looks really cool!
Do you still have some space left when the hardtop is folded in the trunk?
The one piece will also fit in the trunk?

Go to this link to see the space left over when packed in the trunk (this does not include windows on gen 1).

If you have a sharp saw blade, you should be able to get the one piece to fit in the trunk.

Just kidding. No, the one piece will not go into the trunk.

Jeff,
That scoopless top kicks ass. I am so glad I endured the wait. I'll have my receiving dept guy on full alert looking for my package.

It should ship next week. Of all the tops I've built, yours is the first White one and I'd love to see some pics once installed.

Jeff, once the one piece comes out will you still be making the 3 piece tops that fit in the trunk?

Yes.

The three piece is a labor intensive, expensive product to build. There are a few people who purchase it based on the styling and not the storage feature. Therefore, the one piece will be available for those who want to keep it on the car most of the time and save a few hundred bucks.

Personally, I don't get it. The RT/10 is a roadster and I would never want to be stuck with the top on. Not to mention I would still have to use that soft top for some situations.

People are different, so we are going to offer different options.

SEASNAKE ~ I was worried about the same thing. I e-mailed Jeff and he said some seal tight as a drum and SOME may drip? but the Gen II seals better than the Gen I. So i'm on the fence about it because if i get this new one i'm selling my old hard top.
Whats a ood price to ask for a black 99 Hard top? Great condition?
