I get it also, and that has to be one of the meanest looking cars I have ever seen. The more I see these photoshops the more pissed I get knowing these things will never hit the streets like this. Incredible looking machine.

Very nice. I like how you even put the regular side exhaust to make it look "production-like" . Looks great.

Looks good but I would only be interested if it was an ACR. Maybe somebody will make a kit like Lemke's for the new GTS.

I agree, and I should be able to afford a new one this time around so I'm really hoping the ACR is a must have for me (which Austin's versions certainly are).

Now that's the wow factor! I'd love to see this GTS next to the actual GTS. One is cute (my wife's words about the new GTS) and the other is nasty looking...I'd prefer to be in the nasty looking

Austin, great work as always!! I've been lukewarm about the Gen V but once I saw the ALMS car I thought about building a street/track one down the road with the wide body. Traction control or not, I'm sure there will be many "donor" cars available in the next year. Make mine red/silver with the wing! Take care, Mike

IMHO, Austin's art work speaks "to" and "for" a segment of the Viper Nation that would like to use words like brutual, aggressive, and extreme, as descriptive of the Viper "presence" as opposed to words like classic, sophisticated and elegant. IMHO the new Viper has a classic, sophisticated and elegant "presence". The GTSR/ACR Viper "presence" is definitely brutual, aggressive, and extreme. For what it's worth, I prefer the GTSR/ACR Viper "presence". However, having seen the Viper Magazine, the wife is urging me to price out a GTS so we can see if we can work the financing. She never said that about any other Viper, ever. Came close on a "C#####t" once, but never a Viper. She can see herself in that car with us driving to SC from TN to visit the kids. She can also see the GTS at the Community College where I teach since retirement and the University where I audit courses and even church. She can also see herself behind the wheel. So, if the financing is right, there's likely to be a GTS Viper in the driveway after the first year rush. Ralph and SRT may have hit the "expanded" market right. By the by, I'm 75 and she's 72. She also drives much faster than I do and never has gotten a speeding ticket! Go figure. :)

So, IMHO, there will be a GTSR/ACR Viper but not in my driveway. So while I "get it" I am not likely to get "one". Maybe one of you will let me drive yours in the future at a VOI?;)

That's a well thought out and realistic response. I appreciate the reality check in discussions because I live in a real world, I'm not 15 and spend my days fantasizing. There is no question the PS's of the street GTS-R are very aggressive and I love it, however just looking at the picture, I would never be able to drive that around town unless I stayed on the street and never turned into any driveway including my own. And if I took it to a track which I have done many many times, I could not get it on/off my trailer. So here is a realistic option that I would like to see and is very doable. Put a more aggressive front clip on the GTS/SRT version of the show car with fog lights and a lower skirt but not as low as the GTS-R. I would love to get the GTS with a lower more aggressive front clip. I think if Austin PS'ed that, it would be a great compromise that could very well be a reality.

^ I don't know about the others but the ride height has nothing to do with my love/want for the street GTS-R. Raise it up 3" for all I care. Modify the rear bumper to be a little higher. It's the bold shoulders and hips that makes this car so menacing, not it being slammed.

Maybe Riley can produce a series of track day cars. Get basic SRT Vipers from SRT, strip them out, do a bit of body work, put in a roll cage, widen the track and you have a track day GTSR/ACR! You can even lower it. If you limit it to a track day car, the feds will leave Riley alone.

To create a series of road GTSR/ACRs will require the resources of Chrysler for all the Federal testing. The biggest question I see is, can the current assembly line accomodate a wider track? The second question is what are you doing, creating a cosmetic change with a wider track to make the the bold shoulders and hips look right? Or do you want further mods?

My attraction to the road GTSR/ACR Viper illustration is to the appearence. That means a wider track. I don't need further mods, although option packages toward performance are always welcome.;) Nor do I need it slammed. Just IMHO.

Perhaps that's how it is with you but I can tell you this...
If srt said "we're gonna make this car" and then when it came out, (built for the streets) first thing people would point out is the fact it isn't true to the picture Austin did... guys on here don't miss anything, and I mean anything!

It nice to think about though... looks sweet. :)

Wow - that's how the acr should look. I love the muscular low and raw look! I can just imagine the toal package with the new interior and this exterior. Sign me up right now.

I respectfully disagree. If they do it half ass and only go and inch or two wider (which is still better than nothing) I agree. But if they do the full width rear the same as the GTS-R, identical fenders, only slightly different rear bumper, and a front very similar in width to the GTS-R with the more aggressive hood I highly doubt anyone would complain.

Not to refer to my F-150 Raptor again, but Ford just takes a stock F-150 frame, changes the body pieces, suspension, running gear, wheels and tires, etc. and produces the F-150 Raptor. It is 7" wider than a stock F-150. They charge about $12K more for the Raptor versus a comparable F-150. Tell me again why SRT cannot (or should not) do this? They could start off with a base model Viper and instead of spending all the option money on the GTS interior, spend the money on a wider car and the pieces necessary to do so. If that did not cover the costs, there could be an additional ACR option cost like there was on previous ACR's. Most who own ACR's want the lightest car possible, so they do not want all those interior improvements anyway. I don't think Ford has to get the Raptor Federally approved thru special crash tests, etc. since the cab area and frame is the same as a normal F-150. SRT could to the same with a wider Viper.
