I was at my local car stereo store to find some door speakers. I really like the "Hertz" speakers, but the cones are Orange. He told me to paint my dash Orange to match, and I said I just had it painted Blue so the silver car would have a touch of color. He said: "Oh, yea, I understand... since you see so many Vipers on the road you have to make your's different and make sure it stands out!" I about fell on the floor laughing as he delivered his line with a dead-pan grin. :lmao: He continued: "Yea, they are kinda of like a tan Camry... not very unique and you see them all the time--oh, there goes another (pointing out the window)..." :lmao:

In between my laughter I thought that he's right. Why do we take such a unique car and try to make it unique when it already is??? There is always some truth to humor.

Oh, I bought the Hertz speakers. I think the orange will look ok.

It's because you are on the Viper Forum's and probably do VCA events ETC. When I had my last Viper I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Never seen many in person, and always loved them. After getting on the viperclub website and talking to everyone that has them it turned out to seem like a normal car.

Viper's are very special (unless you live in some parts of California) and will always remian special. They are exoctic muscle car's that demand respect. But are not V12's as a lot of people seem to think.......

But mods are always fun. If you played with corvette guys you would have NO reason to modify your corvette because its all been done.

Because we are free to do whatever we feel like, you want a dolphin on the hood? Paint a dolphin on the hood. Why can't you paint the speakers to match?

So are actually putting a speaker in the hood so it is equipped with the speakers the factory forgot? If so, I say yellow or black.

Yea, the Gen 3's forgot the hood speakers so I installed some myself. The orange cones clash a bit with the silver car... but not too bad.
