Hey Viper nation, if there are members worried about a deviation from the normal Viper engine configuration why don't we all send them Emails with our feelings on changing what the Viper is too us. Let them know that if this is a plan they are considering that it won't be the same to you, the existing owners (and recurring buyers), that you are not interested in a Viper that has less power and torque and potentially more maintenance costs. We have had a collective voice that has helped shape the Viper in the past and maybe we can sustain this direction through our communication with the new planners for the Viper. Send Emails to Chrysler AND Sergio, let your voices be heard and more so those cubic inches!!!!!!!:headbang::usa:

Keep it cool and calm, just share your desires for the future of the Viper and what it is you hope to see in the next generations. We are only concerned with the direction of the engine right now so limit your comments to this subject please.

Thanks as always for your support!

:drive:

I don't know - I've been mulling over the idea of opening a Viper shop and if they do indeed stick a Ferrari/Maserati design into the car, all I'd need is a couple of customers to keep me in business :) Just kidding...

Well, Chuck liked what I came up with for petition part 2 (asked me to hold the trigger for a little bit though), guess I could always construct a part 3 to give our feelings the weight that they need?

I'll be happy if the Viper just survives. We will have to wait and see what the future holds for it. Whatever happens I don't plan on selling my 02 ACR until I can't drive anymore.

The car is perfect the way it is, some complain of the interior, for a track car its more than enough. If you want it nicer, have it draped in leather or suede or carbon fiber, we have already paid 90k, whats another few k.

On the contrary I would rather see it either fall in the hands of a all american builder and continue improving the essense of the Viper or simply put it to rest.

As someone said the car in nearly perfect as it is. Could it be improved with some more tinkering or weight reduction - for sure, but I dont think Fiat is going to take it in that direction. in fact I have a feeling that they will take it in the complete opposite direction. Less torque, more mild-mannered and develop it to appeal to a broader audience.

The question remains - how is Fiat going to help develop and market a car that will wip their own flagship vehicles' butt in most every category and at nearly a third of the price?

The Viper and Ferrari may compete for speed, but they are and always will be different animals and the customers for both are totally different in their choice of vices. IMO. I don't see Ferrari piggybacking cars, that's what would make no sense.
