I have a rather large gap between the hood and the top of the lights (both sides-pass side is worst), as well, the gap between the hood and the front facia (where it meets the wheel well) is larger than my thumb thickness...The gap on the driver's side is OK...

I tried adjusting the hood latch mechanism (pass side), I then get the gap
reduced, but the hood is below the line of the front facia (area between headlights)...

Is this common, any ideas on what can be done (pehaps I need to post some pics??) I am in Northern California.

thanks
PS The car was supposedly backed into, there was a small chip in the hood on the driver's side near the release handle, I had it spotted in...It was not enough damage to really have bent anything in the opinion of the body shop who did the paint work.

In these cases, I think you should focus more on adjusting the front facia, instead of the hood. I say "I think" because I have never done it before nor do I know how you would adjust the front facia.
