Re: Gears For The Track-3.07\'s or ???
For the track, I would absolutely leave them alone. Having had stock gears in my previous car, and having 3.55s now, I can honestly recommend to save your money. I found myself having to shift 3 more times at Mid-Ohio, and this is not only more wear and tear on the gear-box, it opens up more chances for mistakes. Very few track cars have gears other than 3.07s , and if my car had not come with the 3.55s ( bought it used ), I would have never spent the money to change --- I am seriously thinking of changing them back. One other item, is the fact that the 2001 and 2002 cars have a different, beefed up rear differential, and parts are higher to change to the 3.55. Save those bucks and get some K&Ns, smooth tubes, and a Corsa catback!!
