I just put mine in for head gasket leaks. Might be two months before I get it back. Only two weeks into it and even though the weather prevents me from driving it I sure miss its presence. The pits just not the same without it.

Symptoms: Any one of or all:
Anti-freeze puddle under your Viper.
White residue on the block below the head gasket seam.
After a drive, a sweet pungent smell coming from motor.

Larry,
The new gasket should be released for shipping on 01/11/02 from Mopar, and yes alot more money.

Dante,
How good do you think that Dealership is? The Tech may be good, but if that Dealer was doing it under Warranty they would get paid for 6.2 hours plus parts&fluids by DC!! When you get to your Dealer ask them to look up this Labor Operation Number 09-35-30-11 in the "1994 Rear Wheel Drive Labor Operation Time Schedule" book!! Then see what kind of song & dance you'll get!

Mark,

If a $1,400 warranty sounds feasablibe...remember...you can't really claim anything from what I have been told for the first few months or so since it would be "coincidental." I was told this when inquiring about a potential extended warranty from Fitzgerald...

Two, usually there will be a few hundred dollar deductible that you will have to pay. Just on the head job with deductible...it may not be too feasible after all...

If this subject is heading to a warranty or non-warranty issue, I'll throw my advise in!

If you do not get an extended warranty, YOU ARE CRAZY!!! Especially on a car like this.

Mine's a 94 and when I took it in to Woodhouse, they found my leaking head gaskets. Along with that- leak in transmission, and bent pushrods.

Had to put in new pushrods, new head gaskets, and brand new transmission.

Now, you do the math of what that would've cost!!! ($50 ded.)

Frank, if you do all your repairs yourself, even if covered under warranty, more power to you! I don't have the time or the expertise!

Also, if you had a $1700 head gasket fix and your ded. is $200 and the warranty is $1400, my math says you're still money ahead!

Dante,
Your Tech [Ken] e-mailed me, I was not getting on his case! It sounds like he knows what he's doing!! I was getting on the Dealerships case where your Viper is at. Your Tech told me all of the other work you had done at the same time. I added up everything that was done and I still come up with a $400 discrepancy between your Dealer and me?
