We just finished tuning a 1993 Viper with good results. The combination was our stage 3 heads, 1.7 rocker arms, mild hydraulic CAM, GEN 2 Manifold and injectors, SVSI headers and results were awesome: Over 500hp and 500ftpds of torque (with cats) to the wheel. The car makes more torque than HP and is a blast to drive. :2tu:

We have found that these GEN 1 cars run very lean on the top end when modified. You can run the stock injectors at maximum duty cycle and still be lean. A larger injector and remapping of the controller does the trick.

I figure your heads and cam are worth about 100hp over the other mods. Not bad. How does drivability compare to those higher hp cars i.e. Venom 650? I'm reading 400ftlbs at 2000 rpms.
How is the idle? Is the cam bigger than the genII cam?

I've tried Gen2 injectors on a Gen1. They don't help much without remapping. Can the Gen1 injectors be remapped to fix the lean condition on a mod'ed motor? Gen2 motors run rich with out the cats. Would that help a Gen1?

I'm confused about the engine speed. The graph shows it's in 4th gear, but at 120 MPH the engine speed would be ~4750? Is this in third gear?

Thanks for the interest, here are some answers to your questions.

1. The drivability is great, with very little Gen1 surge
and idle hunt. This is because of the tuning.

2. We reprogram the early SBEC controllers in shop now,
we didn't use a piggyback system on this car.

3. This car has a 3.54 gear, that is why the vehicle speed
reading looks off.

We are now doing all our tuning in shop, which has sped up
our turn around time on our packages. Thanks again!

does the genII intake flow that much better than stock genI? Did you use the genI throttle bodies?

I'm sure some people are wondering how much? I wish you were in Texas, but I suppose we already have our fair share of tuners.
