Penskey shocks with remote resevoirs are a big first step. Lowering the car also an option. Check with tuners who advertise on this forum for prices and other suggestions.

The Gen-I handling can be greatly improved in several ways:

Revalved shocks, or 3-way adjustable shocks; Spring upgrade; Swaybar upgrade (GREAT BENNIE, LOW COST !)

Most of the ACR components can adapt, but hardly any of the real GTS-R components would do so easily.

The aluminum suspension components will NOT retro-fit.

To say that a Gen-I can be made to handle like a GTS-R is a huge stretch........

Jon, you may want to check out something regarding the aluminum suspension point you brought up. I believe that either the lower or upper front a-arm from a Gen 2 will be a direct replacement for the Gen 1 piece. Although this may not be printed anywhere I know someone in Illinois has done it. No modifications required.
