Gen II hood problems ?

I have the option of purchasing a gen II hood that
was replaced under warranty. The hood is from a car from
the southwest. It is supposed to have cracks in the paint
caused by the engine heat and the outside temperature.
I know about the bubbles on the early gen 1 hoods, but I
have never heard of this problem on the later cars.
Does anyone have any information about this ?
What would it take to repair the hood ?

i would think, more than its worth so perhaps buying a new one is a viable option for you. being that your dealing with a viper here and not a 1986 chevette, patch ups and touch ups might not be what you want on your fine machine. i had hood problems myself, **** dealer closed it wrong and bent the pivots, god bless warranty.
