Although I was 5 years old in the 70's I agree with you 100% the old C3 cars were very mean looking. Then the C4 in 1982(?) looked very conservative and I really hate the rims. Now the C5 1997+ are real good looking kind of a mix between the C3 & C4. My favorite was the split window stingray from 1963. It would be interesting to see the sales figures from one style to another.

There are several things that I do not like about the Gen III but I am sure I will own one at some point. It's kind of like high school .... when you go to the big prom you should dance with the one that brought you.

One of my college roommates has a '69 Tri-Power 427/4spd roadster. We've swapped rides a few times and we both love the other guy's car equally as well. His is noisy, rough and crude, very powerful and Very Flashy!

When I bought my 00' RT/10 16 months ago I still had and kept for about 6 more months my 1969 427/435 tri-power Corvette roadster. A beautiful car NCRS Top Flight, Monaco Orange in perfect condition. What a sight opening my garage to see the two of them side by side, breathtaking.

It must be reflective of my age, but when I got my 93 RT10 I still had a 75 Conv Vet and a 67 Conv 427-425bhp in the garage, and the only thing I could think was "for what?". So I ditched the OLD stuff and learned that new is much better. I just hope that I don't feel the same when the new RT10 hits my garage? I love my 93 RT10, but the more I see the more modern version the more I like the modern look.

I do know that I can not stand any year Vett now, so maybe the Viper did what it was supposed to, converted me?

I don't have a ton of exp. w/70's vettes but did once own a '67 427/435 J56 car and liked it a lot. It was similar to the Dodge in that it had a ton of torque available all of the time. On the other hand, the Vette was way nose-heavy and that torque was delivered to narrow bias plys (no p/s, no p/b). When folks mention the potential handful that the Dodge can be, I recall the '67 fondly. Fun car.
