Forgive my naivete, but it seems generally acknowledged that the GenII cars
handle/ride a bit better than the GenI cars. I'm curious to know what exactly
changed between the generations, and if updating was a possibility.
From what I can tell, the control arms changed from steel to aluminum. It looks like the spring/damping rates are revised as well. If a GenI had the
springs and shocks updated to match GenII cars, and possibly alignment settings
as well, would it handle/ride similar to the GenII cars? Or are there frame
and dimension changes which are outside adjustment ranges which make this impossible?

Thanks,

Suspension
92-95 RT's have are the same.

96-2002 RT's/GTS's basically the same. Ignoring shock and spring changes.

Gen II car "A" arms are aluminum and the new suspension components(a I recall 200) can not be put on Gen I's.

Engine
92-95 400hp
96 RT10 415 (Gen I motor)
96-2002 GTS 450 (GTS)(there are piston changes/cam changes)

Although I can't say for certain, the front suspension members *might* be direct swaps, but the rear suspension is entirely different.
