Im sure this has been discussed before, but im not a computer person and couldn't figure out the search.

What set of slicks should I look for? My car is a 1998, not sure if that matters. and from the looks of things it is going to have mind blowing Horsepower!!! your help is appreciated! I promise in return my supercharged car is going to the track to post some numbers!

Drag set up is a 16" package using Mickey Thompson et streets (2 ply wrinklewall tires) and 4" wide front runner. the whole pkg is @ $2400 delivered. The rears usually get @ 30 passes out of em.

I was wondering the other day how your car was coming along. I remembered your initial Post about it a long time ago. Keep us posted.

Trey is right the Mickey Thompson ET's are the way to go for the strip, however, they are not a good choice for the street if you are going to do any driving. Since they are bias ply the fronts must also be changed.

If you are 500-600 rwhp, on the street, the Nitto drag radials on a 11" wheel (stock fronts) are not a bad choice. They are very driveable and you can keep the stock wheel/tire setup on the front.

Buying the Purner wheels is the ultimate but with the Canadian
Peso the exchange rate kills your northern neighbors.

Any idea on the gains of the Nitto's on the 60' and or 1/4 mile times on a Gen 1 car. So far with no cat's, smooth tubes and K&N's I'm pulling 12.84 @ 110 mph on stock pilot sports at @ 3700 density altitude.

60 foot time of 2.042.

Are the Hoosiers an option?

Thanks

Tim

Sounds like the hoosiers or Nittos will help you, but I don't know how much. Either your track is amazingly greasy, or you are not launching very well. One of our members was running 12.3's in a pretty much stock Gen I car on street tires. I believe he has hit 1.7 60' times at our track, maybe even better than that. With a 1.7 60', you will be easily in the very low 12's.
