As I looked at a pic from this weekend, I thought of how much we should enjoy this era while we can. It will be 30 years before another car makes the kind of impact the Viper does. Although the 03 Viper is 100% Viper and awesome it won't have the impact the Gen I and Gen II have (partially because of the automotive boredom we endured for the past 30 years). These cars transcend all age groups. Kids as young as 4 and 5 gawk at the Viper and when I visit my folks at the retirement village, all the ORBs gawk. Sorry to get so sentimental. I'm such a sensitive guy.

BTW an ORB is an Old Retired B******. If it offends anyone lighten up, my folks laugh every time I use that term.

From left to right, John Slaughter (98 Silver RT/10), Mike Stuart (99 Silver/Blue ACR), Gerald (98 Red GTS, former and future Doug Levin Supercharged), Scott Stuart (future Viper owner), Me (98 Red RT/10, 97 Red/White GTS)

Chuck's right, the experience is great! Gerald's right, an unremovable smile (except for the near-cop experience)! Good times over at Mike's

Hey Sean, I think I got a good deal as well. According to the seller, he had sold a start-up small company (not a billion $ ecommerce) and invested heavily in the market, took a beating, was setting up a new business, and was more interested in the $ than the car (did take some pics and was sorry to see it go, and I think you'll be sorry too if you sell yours...). It was a pretty short visit, but we should've dropped a line, it'd been cool if you were out at Gandy only to be run off like us

Great Pic!
You Tampa guys have all the fun.
I wish there was a little more Viper comararderie in my part of the world. Next time I'm in Tampa maybe we'll get together for a steak dinner at Berns' Steakhouse and talk Viper....of course I won't have my Viper, just a rent-a car.
Be Well, and John congrats on the new car, it's beautiful.

Thanks Viperess and Viper99! I do plan to be safe and take it out somewhere isolated to test some braking, etc. I also plan to get back down to Tampa with it again some time, it was great!

Sorry Tony, if you don't have a Viper, you can't hang out with us. Having one in another part of the country doesn't count..

Hey, what's that 98rt trying to steal my compliment from the one and only - Viperess?!

Sean L sorry, I dropped the ball again.

Tony, there's a place down here that rents Vipers. Or you can rent one of mine for 50,000 per day.
