Hello, it seems that North Central has been starting to work with Grapevine Dodge and is building a relationship. That being said, I am going to take my car there for service tomorrow. Do we have a contact in service that we try to work with? In our Michigan club we had a "go to guy" in service, that would coordinate and work closely with the Viper tech.

We indeed are starting to work with Grapevine. We've done some events there, and they seem overall the most capable I can see in Dallas for warranty repair type work. We are trying to "formalize" a relationship there. Rusty is the service manager, and his viper go to guy is Allen Salyers.

As to Archer, I have inquired here, Bobby was a great friend of the club (and vipers) in the past, I have no recent workings with him, so I can't speak to anything there.

Feel free to contact me for any questions.

I believe that is one of Keating's places. And Keating always supports the local clubs. I would give it a try if I lived in the area...

No doubt that Rusty and Ben bent over backwards to get my car in for service. Rusty definitely wants our business!

I posted up for bidding on the gift certificate that I won at the club silent auction during the Christmas party. If anyone KNOWS they are going there and will be spending more than $110 on service, this $250 certificate can save you some money. PM or email if you're interested.

Be warned about Huffines in Plano. My experience there has been far from great.

Took the car in for a new PS pump. During the operation, apparently a hose broke, hit the tech in the head and sending him to the hospital. He ended up being just fine. Sprayed the entire engine bay, that was previously detailed, down with PS fluid. Got it back, looked like they used a dirty diaper to clean it up. Took it back, they did a 99% clean job on it after ********.

Took it to Ft Worth in a couple days for driving school. Notice the front "wind plate" that covers the bottom of the engine hanging down. All four bolts gone from the rear. They fixed it, but I have been less than happy with Huffine's "service."

On the upside, they did not ef-up the oil change I took it in for previously.

Thanks for the heads-up. I had some bad experiences with Huffines (Plano) even doing oil changes on my Charger SRT8. (Bellypan hanging with one-bolt on--took back, they drove it around the building, did NOTHING). Other issue was the Charger SRT8 front fascia sits LOW (Viper I think is even lower). I told them to please be careful parking it OR just pull up in service bay, I'll take the car from there. Well, sure enough, parked it in a 'curbed' spot and took the front fascia up over the curb in the spot. If you could get a piece of paper between the bottom of the fascia and curb, you'd be lucky. (I left the vehicle there, walked back into the dealership and asked them to back it off the curb--thank goodness no damage. A Viper front fascia---forget it---would have been damaged.

I am in search of a good service department at a Dealer or mechanic in the Dallas-metroplex. I've heard good things about Keith Laxson (former Huffines/Lewisville Viper Tech for 14 years) who has his own shop "Musclehead" in Lewisville. He did the Pre-Inspection on my car and seems like a really great guy and very thorough. He did an outstanding job on the Pre-Inspection--doesn't miss much. Probably save me from some "viper-tax" too. Looks like to Lewisville I will going for service:)

Let me know you/Cubican's experiences around our hood' Grapevine Dodge did my CAI on my Charger and seemed like a good dealership. Just using the power of this forum/club to help educate me:)

P.S. Glad to hear the technician there was 'ok.'

thanks

greg

...so far not so great of news to report. car has been there since Tuesday morning at 8am. prior to dropping it off i called last week and told them to order a new oil pan gasket as i wanted to have them do that swap as well. tuesday get a call they ordered it but was wrong gasket, car wont be ready until wednesday.

wednesday i get a call due to storms in southeast shipment of new gasket delayed until thursday. car to be ready thursday.

now get a call today gasket arrived but bent too severely to use, have to get another gasket car ready friday.

the ONLY thing that is keeping me sane right now is that its indoors, tonneau cover on it, and no fluid in it so nobody can drive it. they did ask if i wanted to take it home tues night and bring back wednesday, which made me feel better too as that told me some 18 year old wasnt taking it home to his family that night.

keep you posted, but 3+ days for this service...yikes.

...drove by just to check on things (my brain was telling me the car was doing donuts in the parking lot for 2+days) and car is just fine, in a bay up on the racks so nobody can mess with it, tonneau cover installed. i think things will turn out just fine with Grapevine Dodge, they seem to be stand up people to this point...hopefully i will be cruising tommorrow!

Excellent. Smart for you to ride by. Keep us posted. Sounds like they are taking good care of you/your Viper. Hopefully, the actual fluid/shop work is good too!

After RSI (racing solutions inc) did my rear end gears on a 09 rear end, that none of the shops mention above can do in house, RSI will be the only shop doing work on my car. Will was great to deal with and I got a great price. On one day they did my gears, rear trans seal, motor mounts, and dyno tune.Im going back next week to get my HF cats installed. The shop is full of Vipers and they use car covers if they are not working on them. They know vipers big time, Im so lucky to have a shop like that close to DFW they are in Denison tx. Link.Racing Solutions - The leader in Viper performance!

Thanks. I'll definitely check out RSI. Thanks for the feedback. GEEEEEEEEEEZ, already swapping rear end gears and mods. The 500hp is scaring me (bone stock). I'm going REAL EASY and probably need to take a track/course on how to safely drive this beast. I can't imagine those GENIV guys/gals with 600hp/560tq bone stock and some folks with the TTurbo setups.............ah caramba!!!!!! I thought my Charger SRT8 at 425hp and 4200lbs was quick. It's a whole new ballgame now....

I had my car for 8 months now and I have done a ton of work on it,when I was at rsi they had 3 tt setups they where working on, and one very special 09 ACR with a TT with 1400 to 1600 HP. They are building it for some one over seas, I think Russia. Call will and tell him Pedro recomended the shop. As for the Viper respect it or it will bite back.:D

Well its been a week, but i got my car back from grapevine dodge this morning. with all of the bad weather, and some bad luck, it took until yesterday for the oil pan gasket to arrive. one came in last week that was bent like a horse shoe so it was obviously not useable. anyway, inspected car up on the lift, looks like they did a really nice job, car was taken care of well (stored inside all week).

Other than some smoke from some brake fluid that must have dripped onto a header and some dust on the car from a week of sitting, i am satisfied with the experience and will be a repeat customer. their service manager rusty did give me a small discount for the inconvenience of a one day job taking 6 days. the tech that actually did the work was very professional, courteous, and more than willing to answer my questions/show me the old gaskets/etc. hope this helps!
