I just watched a great program on the travel channel hosted by Peter Fonda on the history and intrigue of Route 66. Very informative and fun to watch. But you ask yourself, "why post this here in the R/T-GTS forum?" Well, because their traveling car that was used was a 2000 steel grey R/T 10! These people know how to travel in style!!!! That was a trip I was contemplating in the near future and I am wondering if it would be possible to get a group of people to pull off this trip? Maybe shoot for sometime next summer.... you know, something in between the break of VOI 7 and VOI 8. Comments are welcomed.

ironic how as i watched the show last night i, too, thought about how cool a gigantic Viper cruise on 66 would be.

Be careful getting the Route 66 nostalgia. After a short while, all the towns begin to look the same. They all are living off the Route 66 legend, and sell all the same nick nacks. Those "quaint" restaurants all serve the same greasy food,
and stale coffee. Motels are worse than typical Motel 6's. On the west coast some of the best areas are in Flagstaff Arizona, Riverside Ca, and of course the grand finale at Santa Monica Pier.
Enjoy the ride.
