Jim- Vipermania does offer the roof duct. Not functional. They do support this sight, and you can find there phone # in the listings. Biff knows plenty about hardtops. Mopar vs. Aftermarket.
Jim - Here's my two cents worth. I currently have a stock mopar hardtop for my '99 RT/10 and hate it. The latches located in the front are too small and hard to lock in place. The rear latches are the scissor type and equally frustrating.
After several weeks of searching the archives and posting messages on this board, I decided to go with the vipermaina double bubble hard top with the integrated roof duct. I talked to Biff at vipermaina at length regarding the latch design. Vipermaina's latch design is far superior over and above the stock mopar and the overall look is much cooler...especially the one with the integrated roof duct.
I'm with Kevin...I really don't like my factory hardtop...haven't used it in 2 years...anyone want a black factory hardtop...could cut you a good deal!
Biff's top is the way to go. Had mine for a year or so and it is great. Goes on and off quick and easy. I dropped the money for the scoop and I think it is worth it, gets lots of attention and looks cool.
Get the V-mania one. The ease of installation is a relief in itself. I have it and when compared to the OEM one, Biff makes a product that is outstanding. It is more secure and you don't need to remove the sport cap (black foam part on the roll bar).
Jim Keaton since you have a GEN II you may want to make sure you get infor from Gen II owners. It seems with a factory hard top on the GEN I you have to remove a foam pad.
Of course this is not the case with GEN II. There may also be other differances such as quality of clips etc.
I have a 2000 RT with a factory top. Works great no squeeking and no problem putting it on or off.
Have also driven 1200 miles with it in one trip and no problems.
