Has anyone ever used fix-a-flat with a Viper?

In order to save space for my trip down to VOI8 I was considering removing the spare. I went to the autoparts and the fix-a-flat can says that it cannot be used with high performance Z rated tires. They said the tire compound is too soft in Viper tires. So, is this BS or not? Has anyone ever used Fix-a-flat that comes in a can with their Viper? Thanks.

IMO it's a great way to ruin the tire. I doubt you'd ever be able to balance it again, at least not without a time consuming internal cleaning process. That with the fact that the spare is part of your rear crash protection system says to me you'd be better off packing lighter.

Don't know if it has changed but the old Fix a Flat , you had to advise the tire repair folks that Fix a Flat had been used as there were a few fires that were related to that compound when the tires were broken down.

I wouldn't have a problem doing that. Go for it. Isn't that what the Z06's have factory. Better than leaving the tire at home, having a flat and sitting on the side of the road for two hours.

It should not be a problem. I had a Z06, they basically give you a can of fix-a-flat with the general's name stamped on it. Although, if you have to use it. The next tire change will be messy. That stuff turns in to a big ball of snot...

They just say dont use it for Z rated tires for legal reasons. Should you go do top speed with fix-a-flat in your tires? Of course not... but will it get you to your destination, at the speed limit?, safely Yes...

It'd be handy if VOI8 could have a site there for UPS'ing your stuff to instead of trying to wedge it in the back, given the limited space in the cars. Probably too complicated...

The GTS has more than enough space for 2 people for a week or 2. There's a lot of nooks and crannies. Flat items can be stored behind the seatbacks. Lots of space over the wheelwells in the trunk for small items. Lots of space behind the headrests that do not obstruct visibility. Pack sensibly since you will also get some gifts at VOI8.

In the VOI8 packet, it mentions a Fedex station onsite for shipping. It seems you could easily ship extra stuff to the hotel, then ship it back, as necessary.

You can always mail your clothes and stuff to the hotel then mail it back to your house.

I read about someone doing a cross country trip that way. :) :)

I am going to UPS my stuff, I just called & they said to put attn to yourself & mark that you are a guest. Putting you confirmation number on the box or date of arrival would also help. I wouldn't even be able to fit my wifes shoes for the weekend in my car.
