Has anyone had any play with thier steering wheel in a 1998 GTS>?

I noticed my steering wheel has a small bit of play in it. When I floor the car while holding on the steering wheel, I noticed the stering wheel clicks a little when pulled towards you. It's not a lot of movement..but enough where you can feel it click in and out on one side. Any idea's what it is?

I'm not sure if I have play from side-to-side, feels like it could be a bit tighter, but no up-and-down play (at least not in the car ).
