I had always used it in my Vettes. I know it can be used in the the diff with additive. But, what about the Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in the tranny???

Uh, I don't think so... Mobil 1 is ONLY the factory fill for the motor.

The Mopar transmission fluid is Castrol Syn-Torq - available as a Mopar Branded product. Hard to find branded as Syn-Torq..

I am not sure of the brand of the diff fluid, but the Mopar is available at the dealer, as is the correct friction modifier.

Have not heard anything bad about staying with factory fill recommendations on either of these fluids.

That is what is going back in both our cars - all fluids in the process if being changed right now...

I dont see why it could not be used. The tranny is the one I'am wondering about. The diff is no problem.

I've used the Mobil 75-140 synthetic + friction mod. in the diff. since the 1st change (q7500miles). 5 gal bucket and pump, much cheaper that way. A service bulletin called for a change to the synthetic trans fluid at some point, neutral gear rattle was an issue. I still use the recommeded Dexron, thinking of trying the RED Line MTL tho...Mobil 1 in the eng. all is well.!

Others with more knowledge than I have previously stated that Mobil 1 in the trans is NOT appropriate. Something to do with the syncros as I remember.

I think I will run Mobil 1 in the diff. But, I will go with the recommended fluid in the tranny.
