What is the number of the gasket on the gen.1's that are bad. I pulled my exhaust manifolds off today and I can see a number on the part of the gasket that sticks out along the head and the block.
What is the number for the good gaskets to replace the crappy ones, I bought a set of gaskets from someone in the club and was wondering if they are the good ones.

TIA,
Mitch :2tu: :2tu: :2tu:

I am no expert here Mitch but weren't the original gaskets made of paper on the newer ones are some sort of metal? Are your gaskets leaking?

I'm not sure about numbers, but when they look like this they are about done....

I thought all of them are junk, just matter of time?

I got mine replaced by Viper Wizard, Chuck Tator.

Suggestion: Buy from a known source, that stands behind the product and knows the difference. Does 'in the club' mean a VCA member / vendor? Does the seller know what he sold you? There have been several revisions, and a couple were "BAD" and several are "GOOD".

Hint: All the "bad" gaskets were withdrawn (NOT RECALLED) a Looong time ago. I have the date somewhere. It is unlikley you have a "BAD" gasket, but you might have a "WRONG" gasket !

Mitch, sounds like you have the "right" gaskets. If you post the part #, we can confirm them.
