As I posted before, I'm currently in the process of buying a '94 from Bill P.
One of the things that he's going to take care of before the car is sent out is replacing the head gasket, which I recall him as saying isn't leaking yet, but is showing signs of failing. So I was happy knowing that issue would be taken care of, and taken care of right.
However I got to thinking, if I buy an extended warranty for the car (which Bill P said is still available), why not just have him skip the head gasket work and adjust the price accordingly, and then have the gaskets replaced under warranty if they fail?
Bill said this wasn't an option becuase he had already entered the head gasket as needing repair, and Chrysler probably wouldn't cover them later if they're already in the system as needing repair now.
So should I just **** it up and accept the situation? I just don't want to feel like I'm paying for something I could get covered later.
Thanks in advance for your reassurances.
