Is there a good place to get a new head liner for my GTS. Some of the mesh pockets are starting to sag and I would like to replace them but I think that are part of the liner. How much is a new liner?

Thanks

You can buy the mesh pockets by themselves (headliner and console - watch as console shapes differ) but you do have to remove the headliner to replace it (in order to get to the clips on the posts that position it and hold it in.

On both my GTS and RT I pulled the liner down removed the mesh and sewed another thin piece of black elastic on top of the original elastic. Worked great and you have to really know what you are look'n at to see it. I did the same thing on the front seat pockets that stretch out.

How do you know the new mesh pockets won't sag over time? Those things are almost useless. Whenever I put anything in there they just shoot out when I accelerate.

Ha, same here. If I happen to throw my cell phone up there on one of my weekend cruises it usually becomes a deadly projectile.

It is a nice place to put your cell phone if you're just cruising down the highway on a road trip. I think it is best suited for storing womens undergarmets.

Thanks guys.

Chuck I have to agree with the frantic looking smiley on those prices. I might have to do a fix like stated above.

My headliner got two small burn marks in it...long story....but it was a fortune to replace.

If anyone needs one...with two small burn marks in the fabric.....I still have it. Make me an offer. The foam underneath is good...the fabric sort of split. No..it was not from cigarettes.

Okay....I guess I have to spill the "stupid beans".

Around MArch or April or 2006, I had to get my car trailer inspected and the Viper was in it for winter storage. I removed the Viper and parked it beside the garage for the hour I was gone.

Upon returning, I got out the small hand held mirror that I use to better see the inside fender boxes in the trailer when pulling the Viper in. (This is to help me avoid hitting the sills. )

I got in the Viper and moved it a number of feet, and got out of the car for a moment to check something. I maneuvered the GTS to another position and once again got out of the car for another minute or two. When I got back in the car the last time, I noticed a reflection on the roof and just assumed it was the keys, a seatbelt buckle...etc. Nope...it was the sun reflecting on the mirror and burning the material on the headliner.

The long and the short of it was that the headliner material got a split like a women's pantyhose would and the foam was showing in two places. I wound up biting the bullet on a new headliner.

I guess I'm lucky there was no fire or other damage....and it never entered my mind that this could happen.
