We are currently in the process of working on a thermal protection kit with Dan Cragin at the Viper Shop. You may want to hold off for a little while if you can. We will post more info as soon as we are closer to completion.

I'm also looking into buying headers & having them coated. I'll check my racing sources to see what the pros recommend. I've seen a few other companies mentioned here as well. Hey, I used the search function!

I just tried to contact the Jet-Hot people, but their email link doesn't work. Guess I'll have to call. I also wanted to point out a few typos in their site (can't help myself--I'm a publisher). On their FAQ page, they say "better then chrome" in two places. The dead email link and typos don't exactly build confidence, but then (than?) I suppose their job is to apply quality coatings, not write websites.

I can recommend both JetHot and HPC. Both good. I just returned from the JetHot plant near here to pick up a few things I had coated for another car. Nice job. Call them on their toll-free number for prices, etc. Their "sterling" coating is their shiny silver. HPC is good too. Prices may vary.
Quality is good on both. Usually takes just a few days. pete the ex glass guy & hot rodder

Jet hot can coat inside and out.... and was the company that originally developed ceramic coatings. The folks that I know that have used them are pretty happy.

Contact Chris at:

If he can't help you out, he can point you to the right person.

The next set of headers I have coated will be Jet-Hot.

My racing friend at the local auto machine shop knows racers that use Jet Hot and they last indefinitely.

Further, I believe JetHot has a life time warranty.

Other places offer free replacement for so long and then a 50% discount to redo.

I have had ceramic coating from a header manufacturer start blistering and coming off in 1 year with no warranty.

Never again from a manu.

I wrote them and this is what they had to say....

Thank you for your interest in HPC. We coat quite a few Viper headers such as for the factory Viper racing team, Bellangers and Hennessy Motorsports. For Hennessy and Bellangers we usually use our standard HiPerCoat?, but we have done numerous sets in our HiPerCoat Extreme?. Team Viper uses only HiPerCoat Extreme because of the nature of their racing. Our HiPerCoat Extreme has the most in heat reduction qualities as you probably saw on our website at www.hpcoatings.com/exhaust_coatings.htm

Sounds like the coating could bring the temps down quite abit...
