1999 silver RT10. just curious, has anyone else had to have the rocker panels/exhaust covers repainted due to the yellowing of the front and rear protective plastic tape? also, my sportbar started to separate (black plastic rear portion from the painted body color portion) dealer fixed it and didnt know why it happened. could it be due to torque? or is it yet another flaw in american car quality (and before anyone blows a gasket here saying im dissing my country, im ex-military for generations, but we all know our cars could stand to be built with a bit more TLC and pride), just curious?

You have protective tape on the sills? That must have been an add on. I imagine the tape will eventually discolor from the heat but silver cars are notorious for yellowing sill paint on their own. Some have reported that they had gotten the sills repainted by the dealer due to this issue. However, yellowing tape only does not warrant a repaint. Peel it off and put some new stuff on. That is, if only the tape is yellow.

I find myself trying to remember if there was tape on their originally, now.

My 96 RT/10 has a clear tape like decal stuck to the leading
edge of the side sills...I thought it was to gaurd against debris from the front tires...
