Well I finally got to drive my car this weekend and I noticed that the heater was not working. The car was fully warmed up, about 190+ on the temp gauge. I turned the heat control knob all the way into the red and turned the fan up all the way, but no heat came out into the footwells. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim

I had the same issue. For me it was a vacume line that was chewed through in the right front wheel well. Can you switch to defrost? does air come out but not hot? Those were my symtoms

Jim, go to your passenger side compartment, check the cable controling the valve to your heater core ,the clip notoriously pops off,you will probably find that is your problem

The viper Heater only works when the fan is set to the floor. Heat does not come out of the dash vents above the radio. This is true on 2000's and is in the manual. Did you have it set to floor?

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I did have the selector set to the floor.

I also checked the heater control valve and it is connected, with the clip, and appears to move properly in relation to the temperature knob.

I will look for the vacuum line tonight and check it.

Any other ideas?

Jim

If you drive for any amount of time, the engine heat will soak into the car anyway. But, maybe you have an air pocket in the heater line, and try different settings on the heater and AC control, it does not work like most other cars, as previous posts have said. Can you see the cable connection in the engine compartment to the heater? Does it move the control for heat? When they flushed out the antifreeze in my car, it was a bear to get the heater working again, but finally, it started to work and then it got really hot!
