HELP! Coolant fans won\'t kick on.

Just got my viper (1994) out this spring and drove it to work this morning. At stop lights I noticed the temp climbing to about 225 or so and then drop to 190 when I start moving again. When I got to work I checked to see If the fans were turning on and they were not. Is there something I should check before I take it in for service?

Thanks for any help.

Did you check the fuses and relay switch, also the electrical connector at the fan?

Thanks for the responses guys! I cannot find a fuse that deals with the fans, but I will attemp to check the relays (I guess there are 3 of them). I'll try turning on the AC to see if they kick on also. Thanks, guys, I'll report back.

JonB,

Looks like you've figured it out. The fans kick on when you go to AC. I assume this means the relays are fine. I gave my attempt at burping but am unsure if I am doing it right. When cool, the overflow tank is empty. Does it need more coolant? What is the proper way to burp the system? In a couple of weeks I am scheduled to do a system flush, but in the meantime the fans still do not kick on themselves.

Thanks,

Jeff
