From time to time when I accelerate, it's so fast that the fairly strong metal clip for the Valentine 1 radar detector can't hold onto the visor and the unit slips off, dangling from my power cord. I want to maintain using it in that location for a variety of reasons, as opposed to using the suction cups. Does anyone have any ideas (other than accelerating slower, LOL)?

I had the same problem, what I ended up doing was reversing the bracket, that is clipping it on the front of the visor vs. the back. The Valentine should slide in fine.

Give it a whirl...

I'll try that - I often take it down since it's in an rt/10 without the top on generally, so I pull off the clip and unit, so I'll see what I can do with it that way.

BTW, I saw a post over on the stang board a while back about your viper sale, did you ever get it out to Gandy? What future plans for one do you have? I'm sure your other snake is doing fine for you though

In the NY/NJ area we have EZPass, an automatic toll paying remote control that uses an odd Velcro to hold the box against the windshield behind the rear view mirror. The box is the size of squared pack of cigarettes, and not that lightweight, either. I also use it to hold my shift light on steering column.

This Velcro is neither male nor female, rather little balls on little stems. The little pass slither past the balls from the other piece and end up next to the stems from the other side. Very sturdy, never had the EXPass box nor shift light move or come loose through any AX or road race event.

And sorry, don't know where else to get it. Big help, huh?

You should know that the Valentine is so smart that when you are crossing the NC-Va border(as I understand you often do) it is automatically shutting down and removing itself from its perch.PS As a fellow member of the Bar, I am disappointed that you have chosen to carry such a device in your car.(at least w/o letting me try it out)

That is definitely a handy feature of the V-1 ;) Hey, I should be in the Richmond area over Thanksgiving break if you need a demonstration

Also, if you assistance with an acquisition, I can help.
