I have to agree somewhat with the other replies. I have the roe hi-flow cats and full 3" exhaust. At idle it is a little louder and at WOT it is a lot louder. In fact it sounds like the Viper should sound at WOT, but doesn't on a stock Viper. But at cruising speeds I do not notice a difference. Speaking of loud though, I was heading back from Canada in my Viper Saturday night after cruising with GENXGTS Ryan. I stop at the border crossing and I could not hear the questions the border gaurd was asking me over the sound of my exhaust,

I am not hard of hearing or anything, it was just when you stick your head out the window it is just that much louder. Needless to say I said what about 3 times and the border gaurd was looking at me a little suspicious and I was thinking oh boy, they are going to have me pull over and check my whole car out, but I finally heard what he said "are you bringing any alcohol or tobacco into the country." I said no, but I am bringing a big can of whoop a$$ !!! Just kidding about that reply because that surely would have warranted them pulling every panel of my car apart and leaving it at the side of the road and they have no obligation to put it back together.

Depends... Do you have an aftermarket stereo?
Seriously, the cats make a big difference in sound. If you are concerned, or even asking about it with apprehension (like I assume you are by worrying about taking a long trip) then I'd suggest not doing it.

Also, search the archives... too many threads on the subject to list them all.

John.

I have the 2.5 Corsa with high-flow cats (Sean Roe Ovals). The car will be louder when you stomp the gas, but cruising in 6'th gear is very, very quite. More so than stock, due to no drone. I would say 'go for it'.

I 2nd that. I have a 96 RT with the Random Tech HF cats and Corsa 3" cat back. The system is louder than stock at idle and louder when you step on it...However, at cruising its the same or more quiet...

One data point about the drone, now with my Hardtop on and side curtains in, I can actually have a conversation on my cell phone (at 70 mph, sixth gear, cruising) whereas with the stock exhaust, forgetaboutit...
