Has anyone ever replaced their own hood springs? My hood never really wanted to stay up on it's own, so I bought 2 new ones from Dodge. Put them on last weekend and they seem just about the same as before. I know they should be better. Any tips/tricks from those of you who have done this? I know it must be an alignment/positioning issue. Any comments are appreciated.

I know this issue has been addressed before but it's been a while so I'm not sure how far back to search. I think someone had sprayed the hinges with WD-40 to get them to operate more smoothly and they ended up with a condition like you're describing. I thought the solution was to make the hinges stickier rather than an alignment issue. It seems that if properly aligned the hood would open/close easier. Let us know if you find a solution. Good Luck

Yes, whatever you do, dont lubricate the hinges or the hood will slam on your head every time...
My old hinges were actually much better than the other ones I got.
