local dealership is just as convenient as any other place and will be same price. and if you want to do some custom paint work; go for it, they look great and can really be personalized.

I don't paint them anymore...decals are faster...

1. Prime area of decals with a flat black engine block spray paint...three or four coats...

2. Apply decal...(3M ScotchCal)...

3. Clear coat with engine block clear coat...

Just email [email protected] and tell him what you want...He already has the Sneaky Pete scanned...most colors...I don't recommend "chrome" as it doesn't stretch...Be creative, be orginal...and don't copy mine!!!

Adam,
thanks .. it is just the right thing to do at this time.
but as a "rider" to the sale of my car.. whoever buys it agrees to offer it back to me
if they wan to sell it in the future..
so it may come back to me in future years...
best wishes
Jim

The sticker doesn't work as good as the paint plus it looks cheap.

Well...I have done both...and the decal's work very, very well and actually look cleaner...Let's see your painted pad!
As soon as I get the pictures to Gary Javo he will post them for me. :p

Is the backround a sticker too, or is this just an outline decal? What to do now, paint or decal? who makes the decals?

I did a search and no luck on instruction for painting the hood pad.

Does anyone have instructions? What kind of paint and clearcoat to use, or where to get the decals.

thanks

Get your hood pad painted! The amount of heat your big bad v10 produces will be too much for the decals even if you seal them well, they will peal sooner or later. Go to partsrack.com Jon will have the instructions on how much sealer/paint to use under his "engine pad section" that he use to sell.

Because all of the factory decals under the hood have peeled already, yes? NO they haven't...
