In a 2000 RT/10? Is it something I can do myself or does it need to be done by a professional, and if so how much $$$ would a pro charge? Would I be able to keep my 3 points also??????

The last set we did (on a 2001 GTS) took 6 hours - including the time it took to videotape. (TeamTech will be providing videotaped instructions in the future...) Admittedly, we know some short cuts, but we are a heck of a lot more anal than most, too, so it may even itself out...

You can retain the stock 3 points - especially easy if you ordered TeamTechs from JonB and TeamTech sent the metal sleeves that allow the stock latch to retian its swivel function. (Thereby avoiding the potential for plastic enema every time you slide into the car...)

RTs are a little trickier, as you have to drill out some exopy to uncover the threaded inserts - we have the dimensions and will have some new pics thanks to Dave "SEASNAKE" Miller.

We also have templates for a GTS, but since the trim pieces are a little different, they may not be that helpful for an RT. Let me know....

And good luck on the install - we are usually available for consultation.

Hi Ron,

My best advise is to listen to Janni Cone. Actually her and her husband provided me some telephone support and emailed me instructions including templates to cut out for the harness.
It took me about 7-8 hours to complete and my skill level is...well lets say the only tool in my tool box is a hammer, if I can't fix something with that well...its beyond me!
If you follow there advise, it will come out perfect!

(let him do it because he has better tools)

The r/t if much much different then the gts.
the seats do NOT have to come out and the templete will NOT work.

The only surprise is that the "bolts" that hold the shoulder harnesses in the gts are in the open behind the bulkhead.
On the R/T they have to be found. You have to drill ( we used a hole saw bit) at the dimple marks through the fiberglass to find the bolts.

Also by not removing the seats time can be faster on install.
You just take out all the screws holding the bulkhead move it out and do your work; also this makes cutting your bulkhead for the strapes easier just line them up.

Hardest part is cutting your bulkhead with nice straight slots .

good luck hope this helps

After reviewing what has to be done to install the 5 points, on a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate the difficulty of the task a 5. You will be able to keep the OE belts. I guess doing the task yourself depends on your willingness to do some cutting. If not, there's always Dan Cragin.
