Jon,

Three options that I am aware of:

1.) Disconnect to positive battery jumper in the engine bay. It has a red plastic top and is on the driver's side (right beside fuse box). This is very easy to do, but your battery will still slowly drain.

2.) Disconnect the battery. Go to the home page and look under Illustrated Upgrades. It will give detailed instructions to get at your battery. It is behind the driver's side rear wheel. This may take a couple hours the first time, but your battery will remain fresh. *Best solution I think...

3.) Buy a battery tender and hook up. Search the web page for advice on this, but most people only do this when storing there Vipers for long periods (3+ months). This device applies a small charge to your battery when needed.

Hope this helps.....

Do you mean that they removed the engine without dis-connecting the negatif from the battery first?

Correct. To avoid re-install problems I would either add a Battery Tender or remove the battery from behind the RR wheel.
Even then, charge it before re-install.

The Viper can drain a battery to below start voltage (10.4v) in 28 days. Sooner in 96.5-97. Battery Tender anyone?
