in between washes? I used to you a finishing spray on my steel grey 00...Too worried about scratches on BLACK! Do I just have to wash it all the time..??

California Duster followed by your finishing spray of choice (I prefer Zaino Z6 myself). Make sure you do NOT use the same duster for your wheels as you would use on the body: Metallic brake dust will put fine scratches in your paint. I would also recommend one just for the side sills (more debris), but that is just me. Works like a champ!

I have also found out that you can clean these things, if you are a cheap asp like me. Just put some hot water in the tub, slop the thing around in the hot water, and just watch the crap that comes off.

And it appears that the duster still has some beeswax available and is still able to dust.

Like Y2K3SRT says, dust first if not too dirty with a California Duster, then follow with a product like Speed Shine from Griots or Meguiars Quick Detailer. You can wash it with Griots or Meguiars car wash, but must rinse and dry inside a covered space. The first method works best and most often for me. Be careful with the wheels, as they will scratch very easily. Check out Griots car detailing guide, it's a good one.

you cant clean it because by the time you are done dusting it, it is time to go back and dust where you started. black looks great in car showrooms and autoshows. i think of black cars the way i do of dogs, they are best owned by people other than me

I was talking to a chrysler Rep who told me there are plenty of Vipers available on lots that are black. Seems Dodge made too many Blacks. I'm sure the reason is a care issue.

Black may take a bit more work but the sinister look it offers is hard to beat. Give your SRT-10 a quick spray down in between full washes (a little power washer unit works great for this!), dry it off with the Absorber sham, throw some Zaino finishing spray on it if you've got the extra 10 minutes and you're good to go! :2tu:

The best way to clean a black car is trade it in on a silver one. Have owned three other black cars and will never own another one. When it came time to pick the color on this one, didn't want black and already had three red cars so that left silver and in my humble opinion silver makes the best looking SRT10. Ok through in a little black on the sides for good measure but not too much. See you all in Dallas

My recommendation is to use a quik detailer such as Meguiars. Purchase commerical cotton rolls (I buy mine in Mexico& or on line) pharmancy cotton balls will not work. Use a batch of cotton to apply the quick detailer. Use a clean batch to smooth out the smear in long hand motions(not circles). I was taught this method to avoid swirls in my Ferrari. I currently have a white mamba (#138). I have never water washed it. I use this method to mist and wipe it after each ride. Best you can do for a Black vehicle.
