I have a red 2000 GTS and I have several cracks on my hood and I want to get them repaired before they get worse. What can i expect to pay to get them fixed and repainted by a professional body shop?

I don't see a good way to "blend" in the paint on the hood since they are in different areas. I think the only way to fix it right would be to paint the entire hood? Someone has already tried to "blend" in some scratch marks and it looks like crap. Here are my major areas of concern.

And here is a picture of where someone already "tried" to "touch up" the paint by blending it in...

Thanks!

What area of the country are you from? Might make a difference for price possibly.

Ask someone from a local VCA club to see if they can refer you to someone tried and true for estimates close to you. Also check with other high end classic car clubs and ask who they use too-Ferrari, Porsche...

Found this in a search but it's from a while back.

Thanks for the replies! That's a good idea about asking others in my area! I was told I could probably get it fixed for around $300-$500... but I'm not taking it to Maaco! LOL

Some of the cracks are deep and it's not going to be a fast patch job, and I want it done right! If anyone else has had there's repainted, please let me know. Thanks!

If you go the cheap way ,those cracks will come back in less than a year to haunt you , find a body shop in your area with Viper bodywork knowledge and get them to warranty the fix for at least a year. Remember that the hood flexes..........

I really don't want to go the cheap route because you always get what you pay for. The problem is, I just bought this car and this is the damage that was on it. I was never told about these spots from the dealership, but everything was marked on the bill of lading paper when the car arrived since I bought it sight unseen. I was told the car was "excellent" inside and out, so I bought it without any worries...

I was offered $500 from the dealership to fix my hood... I shouldn't have to spend a dime of my money or insurance to fix something I was never told about. The nearest body shop that could fix it right, is around 100 miles away...
