My 92 is leaking coolant from the cross over gaskets. I tried re-torking the bolts but the gaskets are to far gone.

If you have done this on your gen 1 car, Would you recommend taking the Intake Manifold off first?

The shop manual does not call for this. But it looks like it would be much easier to work around the area with the manifold off. Wondering how much is involved. Do you have to remove the throttle bodies, alternator, ect.

It looks pretty straight forward as long as I mark the injectors as I remove them.

I have already removed the wipers and the cowl around the windsheild. Still real crampted.

Looking for some advise. Trying to make a plan. Thanks.

It would definitely advisable to remove the intake manifold. It shouldn't take more than a few hours. Chances are the intake gaskets could stand to be replaced anyhow. You may want to check your head gaskets while you're at it. Good luck.

I just did this maybe 6 months ago....dont take the intake manifold off (unless you want or need to). I was able to pull everything out and replace the thermostat and gaskets with just the cowl removed. Its a bit tricky, I think I took it (crossover assembly)apart before pulling it out. Im not a pro so for me removing the manifold and all that had to go with it may have resulted in a huge mess. All in all I think it took me 2 hours to complete it, hardest part was getting the old gaskets off.
