If you buy mods for a car you don't even have yet, are you beyond help?

I should take delivery of a slightly used '01 GTS next week, and I went ahead and ordered the Roe tubes & filters, and also bought a used Snake Oyl rear sub exhaust. I feel a bad case of mod fever coming on.

I've owned several sports cars, but this will be my first Viper. You guys have a great board, and I look forward to meeting (virtually if not literally) some of you.

Ronnie,
You're not sick....just the normal standard modifications most Viper owners do. Congratulations on your Viper ownership and don't forget to join your local VCA!

RedGTS,

Congrats on the car and don't worry about contracting the seemingly fatal "modulus viperus" disease. It will definitely kill you if smiles can cause death...
DevilDog is right on...be sure and join your local VCA...

Enjoy your new ride and be sure and post us some pics...

If it makes you feel any better, I had ordered Belanger headers, Belanger exhaust, smooth tubes, K&Ns, and NOS before I ever received my car. Having all the parts there helped pass the time -- I could go out and stare at the 5-into-3-into-2-into-1 headers and imagine what it was going to be like...

Sick? Try surfing Ebay looking for good deals at least a year before your purchase. Then you'd be borderline certifiable.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like I'm downright normal around here--must be in the right place! I'll post some pics when the beast arrives.

Ben, I'm really going to try to refrain from going out into the garage and making vroom, vroom noises through the Snake Oyl tailpipes to see what they'll sound like, but I can't promise anything.

I showed up at the first five local VCA meetings with my MGW shift knob. That's it. I had ordered my car in May and picked it up at CAAP in November. By the time it arrived I had lots of goodies ready to go!

If it is a sickness, then we all suffer from it...

Jason, I'm in Kingsport, which is about 275 miles from Nashville. My firm has an office there though, and I come down periodically.

Jimandela, I have some MGW stuff on my Mustang, and George is great to deal with and makes killer stuff.

Sounds like we're all a bunch of mod sickos--I guess if there are Viper owners that never think about mods they must stay off the net.
