I drove Ben\'s yellow tire melting machine....

I had the opportunity to drive Ben’s yellow 1000+ HP tire melting machine for a little while on the street last week….. It was pretty incredible…. At first I just took it easy to get settled… you really can’t even tell there was a blower on the car.. it idled and cruised around like my NA GTS…..

of course after getting on the throttle its whole different story….. 1st and 2nd were pretty hard to get some traction down…. But rolling into the power in 3rd gear was totally crazy… hard to explain the what it feels like…. And it was still loosing traction at the top of 3rd…. I had to let off at the top of 3rd because it started to drift off course a little…. Wish we had more room to lay down the power in 4th…

I’ve driven and been in some pretty quick/fast cars…. but this car seriously had me shaking a little after getting out….

Can’t wait to see what this car finally does when it’s all done…. And I can say…. Heh, yea, been there, drove that….

Brooks - you're quite welcome, and thanks for taking the time to put your driving experience in words! I'm living vicariously for another 10 days or so, and it's great to hear what I have to look forward to

I can't wait to lay down a few 100mph black burnout marks of my own. It's... Corvette Season!!! (and Supra season, and bike season, and pretty much everything else

Think of it like riding a fast motorcycle, like a GSXR-1000 or Hayabusa (only faster). You can't really use full throttle in the bottom gears or you'll loop the bike; similarly, full throttle in my DLM car just makes the Michelin guys happy

You can use the power in higher gears, or at the dragstrip. I have some Nitto drag radials I can drive around on when I want to hook up in 2nd...

So Ben, how much power does your car get at the wheels just on blower, without the nitrous?
