Just got my car back from the body shop about a month ago after arduous dealings with another body shop that had it for TWO MONTHS. Decide to drive it to work today and some DIRT BAG I WORK WITH puts a nice little ding in the new facia and didn't even leave a note!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!....

(ok, I assume it's someone I work with because it's in the company's parking lot)

As I'm sitting there plotting ways to destroy this miserable little pimple when I find out who he or she is, I realize what a dumbsheet this pus of humanity is because we have high resolution security cameras and digital recordings to go with it!!! AHAAAA!!! VENGENCE IS MINE!! YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!

so i calmly ask to review the tapes,........

BUT THEY WON'T LET ME BECAUSE THEY'RE AFRAID THAT IN MY CURRENT STATE OF MIND I'LL BITE THE PERSONS HEAD OFF, CHEW IT UP AND STUFF'EM FULL OF THEIR OWN MISERABLE STENCH FILLED GREY MATTER!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

tomorrow, when i'm a little more calm and have my wits about me, i can take a look. at least i can have a look. and then we'll see what happens...

BUT I GIVE UP, FOLKS! ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER! I GIVE UP TRYING TO KEEP THIS CAR UNDAMAGED. i give up, it's just toooo much to handle. after $22,000.00 worth of repairs and the tab still running as i find things that were supposed to be fixed and weren't, or parts that are missing, it has just become too much. I HAVE HAD IT UP TO HERE with the miserable **** that runs around pretending to be human beings.

Sorry to hear this. I would be absolutely p!$$ed and wouldn't stop until I identified who did it. You are lucky that it may have been caught it on tape. Let us know the outcome.
It's sometimes a pain, but I never drive my Vipers where I can't keep an eye on them. Even thought about putting spy video cameras in them - but that's being a bit too paranoid.

WOW sorry to hear about that crap. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Ah Bob, you own the Viper don't let the Viper own you. Treat it like any other car, that is why you have insurance.

When my Tundra was only a month old, some unskilled driver left a deep, 2 foot wide depression in my left rear quarter panel, and also didn't leave any info! I was really bummed after that. Now I'm really paranoid to take my Lightning out, and I never leave it unattended anymore. I could only imagine how afraid I would be, leaving a $70,000+ sports car outside! I don't know how you guys do it. The day I own a Viper, I'll probably only take it out early Sunday mornings and bring it right back home.I just don't trust today's rude and aggressive drivers at all.

MichaelP,
How can you treat a Viper like any other car? I can't even go to bed at night if I know one of them is setting in the garage dirty. And I do drive them - even on the track. Actually, I think I'm in love with my GTS ... and I need help!

What a great break being able to possibly find out who backed into your car. Look at it as a positive.

Now you know the ****** is going to be that the person who backed into your GTS is going to lie like hell right through her teeth when she says, "I never even knew I bumped that car".

Keep us posted on the outcome tomorrow. My bet it's a woman in one of those chic cars like a Sentra or Rio. Take a look at anyone of these types cars and you'll see lots of bumper damage, bird do do and they usually have not washed their car for months. Oh yes and usually they have all types of crap hanging from the rear view mirror. Typically they are pigs.

Good Luck.

Man that really really *****. I hope you can get a look at that tape to see who the ***** is. What do you do at that point? Call the cops? It sounds like a "hit and run," even if a minor hit. Hate to say it, but Vette is a great daily driver. I don't take out the Viper unless I can check it.

Good luck with the tape!

Thanks guys for the support. I feel much better and a little more calm.

I really haven't thought far enough ahead regarding calling the police. I never got past the "beat'em with a baseball bat" thoughts.

Isn't it weird, I was just reading a post about this happening to some other Viper brother just a few weeks ago. I was thinking, "Wow, bummer, but this will never happen to me. I usually only drive it to work and they all know who I am and what car I drive. They'll never hit it, and if they do, I'm sure they would tell me." How naive of me. I'll let you all know when I'm done scanning the tape.

Just because there is a worm in one apple, it doesn't necessarily make the whole bunch bad!!

Ulysses,
I'm sorry to hear about the latest with your car. Sometimes it seems like it is just one thing after another, and as if things are never going to go right, but don't worry they will, stay positive and enjoy your car. You have already been through alot with that car. Perhaps thinking about that beautiful new healthy baby girl of yours will settle your feelings a bit

Let us know the outcome. I hope it all works out for you, and I too, hope it's not the

I feel your pain!

My wife was in her Pontiac GTP coming back from the grocery store Tuesday afternoon and got run off the road by a mini-van that was in her lane. Probably did 5K worth of damage and the sorry so and so didn't even stop. Just kept going! For all he knew, she was injured. What a POS! I was out of town and she just drove home. Now we're having to invol;ve the cops and try and get them to file a report so the insurance will deal with it.

Some people absolutely will not take responsibility for their deeds. Grrrrr....

Sorry to hear about the damage but I agree with Mike...it's just a car!
When you think back on some of the posts we've seen about people (especially young ones)with illnesses and passing on hopefully you can regain perspective.
No one loves Vipers more then me but I belive they should bring me as much joy as possible. If I stress over the cars (and believe me I do) then the money is not well spent.
I drove my 94 and 96 GTS daily and left both outside when I worked and went downtown to court in LA. I know I was lucky but in 6 years and 70k miles, no one messed with the Vipers.
I drive my 00 and 01 RT more than most and leave them out at restaraunts and wherever else I go. Risky I know, but that's why I have them...to drive.
I have had all on the track and got chips and dings but I spend hours cleaning them up to look good. It's part of the fun for me. I vent like you when it happens but when all is said and done, I try to forget about it.
Try the mantra...it's just a car...it's just a car...it's just a car.

Reviewed the tape. Seems there was one SUV parked near me and no one else. I was parked in the back, naturally, out of harms way, or so I thought. Anyway, the security camera is motion triggerred. To make a long story short, it was out of the range of the motion sensor. One second it's there, the next time the camera was tripped it had already backed out and was on it's way. It was parked right in front of me, an SUV of black, or dark blue, or dark green color. Hard to tell what type of suv, what color, since it seems the back of the parking lot is somewhat beyond the range of the camera to focus clearly on. They are checking footage from another camera to see if it caught anything, but with out evidence of an actual accident, there is nothing I can do.

Ulysses,

Sorry to hear about your trouble friend. Try and be calm tomorrow and think about the positive, which is, at least you'll get to find out who did it. Whom ever it was will be exposed! Handle yourself like a gentleman and let them know that they'll be receiving a bill for the damages directly & because your such a nice guy, you won't be pursuing them for leaving the scene after they vandalized your vehicle. Good luck & don't give up on your Snake, it looks awesome!
