.......NASCAR driver for Dodge.
What do you guy think? Should I see if I can have him sign the intake or something? Would it be cool for me, or future owners, to have Casey Mears SRT/10 signed by him?

There are some blogs on goggle about him wanting a Viper and buying one back in 2004.
I have tickets to fly to NC next week to pick it up.

Get him to sign a sun visor or something that can be easily replaced. You can always put on a new one and keep the visor for the person who buys your car. If Casey ever wins a championship, the car may be worth something extra one day.

and take a picture of him signing it

I not a NASCAR fan (GT world challenge or Formula One) but I know most race fans are.

I’m not into getting famous peoples autographs but Lake Norman is where all these big name NASCAR drivers live, and he a racecar driver for Dodge, and the Viper is the premiere American sports car. I just thought this might be and the right reason to have something signed. I also agree it should be something easily replaced if I do not care for it. What’s under the hood of an SRT/10, that could be seen but replaced if need be? Or even shipped to Mears to sign and send back?

I think if you bought Michael Schumacher Ferrari, having his signature on the car would be pretty cool.

......I know Casey Mears is no Michael Schumacher:)

I agree with that. Not sure how much more extra. If it was Rick Mears then you got a hell of a car!

I wonder if anyone has gotten everyone at CAAP, the vipers fathers, and the LeMans drivers to sign there car. That would be really impressive!

I have no crystal ball here or something like that but Casey Mears is still young and getting better every race. One day you might regret NOT getting it. Side Note: Hes 10th in points at this moment.

I feel the engine compartment would be the proper place for it. The power plant. Make it feel like it's a Casey Mears signiture Viper, and tell people who don't know better it is:)

......and then just hope to hell he wins some races.

engine compartments get serviced and have lots of caustic fluids and grease amongst the heat and other harsh environs . its your car do what you want with it. celeb owner ship at least by most contemporary people will not amount to much

Speaking of Casey Mears, I have his dad's signature (Rick Mears, 4 time Indy winner) on this RT10 model, right over the right rear fender. He started signing it, but the Sharpie wasn't flowing ink, so he started over. "Rick" is faint, but "Mears" and "thanks" shows up pretty well. Roger Penske is under the sport hoop, Scott Pruet in the middle, Eddie Cheevers is lower left. Also on the model is Paul Tracy, Mario Andretti, Bobby Unser, Al Unser JR, AJ Foyt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Danny Sullivan. I caught them all outside the hotel at the Long Beach Grand Prix in 1993, I think it was, in the morning before they headed for the pits. I held them down, told them how much I admired them, and released them after they gave me their autographs.

Are deal is for $65k.

I got a call this afternoon, from the dealer who has a guy that wants the car, and is willing to give me $1000.00 to walk away from the deal. That a first:)

I turned him down, that Viper is mine.

I thought the one on ebay was for one signed by Casey Mears, not Casey's car....

Yeah, thats what I thought. According to the Ebay auction description, the owner of the car had some professional relationship to Casey and had him sign it, but it was not Casey's personal Viper.

Has Casey won anything yetin NASCAR? If not I would suspect it would further devaluate the vehicle with his chicken scratch on it.

When I turned on SportsCenter this morning, I believe I saw Casey going into the wall sideways. I'm not a Nascar fan, so I cant be sure but I'm fairly positive thats who's name they said during the highlight

You would be better of having Jeremy Mayfield sign your car than Casey Mears.Mayfield actually drives for DODGE not just a Dodge.

Just read on Nascar.com that rumors are Casey Mears might jump to Toyota sometime In the future. Thought Id pass that along for your decision.
