Factory oil fill was 10 quarts of Mobil 1 10W-30 (as per label on the oil fill cap)...for track use, many use Mobil 1 15W-50. As formulations of oil have changed through the years, many have switched to Mobil 1 OW-40 European Car Formula as used by the factory in 2005-8, and 2008-10 Vipers.

The 2000 Viper Service Manual notes that your A/C system holds 850 grams ( 30 oz. or 1.88 lbs.) of R-134a refrigerant. It further states that the system holds 140 ml (about 4.75 oz.) of refrigerant oil which must be ND8 PAG only.

Also, NEVER use R-12 in these cars.

Please state model year in your posts so that we do not need to read your old posts in order to properly answer your questions.

Best of luck with your Viper...they are fantastic cars !!!

Steve-Indy:

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I need some help finding a good paint shop in the KY-IN-OH area. Do you have any suggestions or know anyone with experience painting Vipers?
