Sometimes my power window switches work and sometimes they don't. Passenger side is worst than driver's and is now stuck part way down. Driver side works most of the time. If I press on the switch real hard sometimes the passenger side will work. Anybody else experienced this problem on a 97 GTS?

Common problem, usually due to frayed wires in the do0r-harness bundle.

If you can use your thumb / forefinger to manipulate-massage the wire bundle between the dash and the door hinge, this "usually" results in a temporary fix. Intermittent fix, but at least that helps diagnoce the location of the problem.

Usually NOT a window switch, and pushing too hard can plunge the switch down and inside the console.

Wires need to be spliced-fixed.

I've got a truck that has this problem and it's a case of the switch contact is dirty. Pulled the switch, cleaned it and it worked for about a year and is starting to act up again.

The door wiring bundle is the more likely problem on a Viper, but checking the switch can't hurt either.

Had this problem with mine. I took off the switch and I believe there are 2 metal connectors that plug into it. I bent them toward each other with my fingers so it would make better contact with the switch and she works like a champ ever since. Good luck!

I had the exact same problem in my 98 and it was the switches. I could move the switch back and forth a bunch of times and then it work for a while and quit again. I replaced both switches which is VERY easy and cheap and it never did it again. I figured if one was doing it the other probably wasnt too far away so I did both while I was in there. Its a simple fix. Just pop the cover off and the switches are right there. 1 or 2 screws, unplug harness, plug in new one and your done.
