The 97 rt10 that I just purchased came with a button next to the drivers right knee. The seller told me this was "for the track" and was used to disengage the traction system. Does anyone have any input about this? The previous owner can not tell me any more...
Well, as no Gen II Viper came from the factory with traction control (and I don't believe its been added to the SRT/10 yet, so *no* Viper has factory traction control), you're pretty much on your own to find out what the previous owners have done to it.
I know there's an aftermarket add-on someone makes for traction control that has been discussed in this forum in the past, and perhaps a few people in the forum here will be able to tell you how to recognize if one has been added to the car you've bought - you're probably looking for extra wiring on the driver's side of the engine compartment where the main wiring harness goes into the passenger compartment, and possibly a control unit somewhere under the hood, etc.
