Is SRT just a junior version of AMG?

When you think about it, the two companies are very similar in their approach to tuning. Simply add more power, maybe tweak the suspension a bit, add an aggressive body kit, and there you go! Only difference being that AMGs are typically far more expensive than SRTs. So with this in mind is SRT just a junior / redneck version of AMG?

That's more less how I've thought of them. Essentially an in-house tuning department. Would also be similar to Nismo I think as I believe they are under the Nissan umbrella and not totally separate. I'm sure there are a few others out there as well, but those are the first that come to mind.

Is Shelby still Ford only? I had thought about them, but didn't know if they still did work on anything else. I know Roush is a little more independent than Shelby, though you primarily see their stuff on Ford.

Ford has a license on the Shelby name for marketing.....if I'm not mistaken.
Helps them sell higher priced mustangs.
